    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    ATTENTION ALL REDEEMER STUDENTS: By now, you have received an invitation by e-mail (sent to your Redeemer e-mail address) to participate in the 2011 Canadian University Report survey. If you have already completed the survey, THANK-YOU VERY MUCH! Students from universities across Canada will be participating in this survey, and the results will be published in the Globe and Mail newspaper. The survey asks about all aspects of Redeemer - professors, classes, athletics, extracurricular activities, information technology, etc. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and a link to the survey was included in the e-mail invitation. This is the fourth year that Redeemer has participated in the Canadian University Report and your participation is very important. Redeemer takes seriously the results from surveys of this sort, so please take the time to complete the survey. Although the deadline is March 22, 2010, please complete the survey before then. In exchange for your participation, you may enter a random draw for one of twenty $100 prizes. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Needham at Extension 4236. (First-year students: The Canadian University Report is NOT the survey that Mr. Wikkerink has asked you to complete.)

    PSYCHOLOGY HONOURS AND MAJORS IN THIRD YEAR: There will be an internship information session TODAY at 3 p.m. in Prof. Stephenson’s office (102A). If any of you are interested in doing an internship as one of your courses, please attend. If you are interested, but cannot attend, please make an appointment a.s.a.p. with Prof. Stephenson.

    SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS: If you are planning to do an internship / field placement in 2010 (summer or fall) or winter 2011, please attend an information session this Friday during Activity period in room 218.

    SWIMMING: Are you interested in a going to the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre for swimming, a waterslide, sauna and more? A group is going on Tuesday March 9th and it's FREE! The bus leaves at 6:15pm and returns at 9:15. Sign up in student life TODAY – there are a limited number of spots.

    LAUNCH 2010 BEGINS! Mission Control and LAUNCH Crew Applications are now available in Student Life. Apply to be part of the team that welcomes new students in September. Forms are available online at www.redeemer.ca/orientation. Please return them by March 15th.

    REDEEMER BLOGGERS AND VLOGGERS NEEDED!! The Marketing-Recruitment-Communications Dept is looking for some students to share their Redeemer experience through blogging and vlogging on the web.     SPRING BANQUET 2010: This Annual Spring Banquet is themed "Soirée du Soleil"! Tickets are available for purchase in the Student Senate office for $28 each (pay when you sign up). This event will be held at Carmen's Banquet Hall, Hamilton on March 19th. Doors open at 6 and dinner will be served at 7. Limit of one guest per student.

    VALUE VILLAGE – REDEEMER STYLE! It’s almost here! Boxes will be placed in the school next Monday to Wednesday for you to donate clothing. Then fill the empty space in your closet and buy yourself some "new" clothes in the boardroom on Thursday (9am-4pm) & Friday (9am-1pm). $2 for shirts, shoes and shorts. $5 for pants, sweaters, jackets and formal dress and on Friday at 12pm- Everything is $1!!!     REDEEMER IN FRANCE PROGRAM MEETING: Second, Third and Fourth year students who are thinking about going to study in France from September for two semesters, or January 2011 (one semester), we will be holding our first meeting this Friday (Activity Period), in Room 242. Please bring along your schedule so that we can find a time to meet once a week for the rest of the semester. Please contact Dr. Thea v.T. Rusthoven (trust@redeemer.ca) if you CANNOT make the meeting.

    AWARDS FOR NEXT YEAR: Applications for scholarships and bursaries for 2010-11 are now available in the Commons, in the Financial Aid Office, and on the Financial Aid pages of Redeemer's website. Please read the details carefully and submit all the requirements for the awards you are applying for. Act now and don't wait for the March 31 deadline.

    INTEREST RELIEF BURSARY: Students who have borrowed money from a bank and are paying interest can apply for a bursary to help offset this cost. Application forms are in the Financial Aid Office and on the Financial Aid pages of Redeemer's website. The deadline to apply is March 19.

    TRICK YOUR TROLLEY: Does your dorm have what it takes to put together the best grocery cart on campus? On FRIDAY MARCH 12 (please note original date-change) during Activity Period in the Commons we will find out! Carts will be judged on: Originality, Flare, Functionality, Creativity, and Presentation.     COMMUNAL MEAL: Join us TONIGHT from 4:45 - 6:00 for another delicious meal prepared by Redeemer's finest chefs. We will be serving Meat Lasagna, Cheese Tortellini, steamed vegetables, 3 fresh salads and decadent cheese cake for dessert. If you are not on the meal plan, you are welcome to purchase the meal as well.

    ATHLETICS

    SOCCER INTRAMURALS: Quarterfinals TONIGHT: Bridgeport vs The Big Green @ 10, Victorious Secret vs The Green Street Hooligans @ 10:30, Off the Wall vs The Unit @ 11, and Bunker & Co. vs Curtis' Team @ 11:30. Semis and Finals will be tomorrow night!

    SPRINGBALL LEAGUE SIGN-UP: This is a basketball tournament that will be run as a club and not as an intramural sport. Sign-ups are individual and teams will be drafted. If you wish to be a captain please indicate with a C beside your name. The fee to play is $2. Pay and sign up in the Athletic Centre at any point this week. Rules and Regulations will be on the Intramural Board.

    PING PONG TOURNAMENT: TODAY is the last day to sign-up for the King of the Pong Tournament on March 6. Schedule will be posted TOMORROW.
