    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    ATTENTION ALL REDEEMER STUDENTS: TODAY you will receive an invitation by e-mail (sent to your Redeemer e-mail address) to participate in the 2011 Canadian University Report survey. Students from universities across Canada will be participating in this survey, and the results will be published in the Globe and Mail newspaper. The survey asks about all aspects of Redeemer - professors, classes, athletics, extracurricular activities, information technology, etc. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and a link to the survey will be included in the e-mail invitation. This is the fourth year that Redeemer has participated in the Canadian University Report and your participation is very important. Redeemer takes seriously the results from surveys of this sort, so please take the time to complete the survey. Although the deadline is March 22, 2010, please complete the survey before then. In exchange for your participation, you may enter a random draw for one of twenty $100 prizes. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Needham at Extension 4236. (First-year students: The Canadian University Report is NOT the survey that the Registrar, Mr. Wikkerink, has asked you to complete.)

    CHAPEL THIS WEEK: Is there life after major sports events end? Darren Hoogendoorn (fourth year) will speak in chapel on the topic "Talents of truth." Join us for midweek worship Wednesday at 11am.

    GEO 122: Please note that the midterm for GEO 122 has been changed from TODAY to next week Monday, March 08, 2010.

    POL208: We will write our midterm next week, March 1. Paul Collier seminars will be pushed to March 8. Other required changes will be made clear next class. Please read Baylis and Smith on the United Nations, Chapter 18 (314-328) this week.

    MATURE STUDENT SOCIAL: TODAY @ 11:00 a.m. in the Executive Dining Room. Refreshments will be served. Feel free to bring a friend a two.

    ENGLISH DEPT INFO SESSION: TODAY at 11:00am in Room 212A, the English department will be hosting an Information Session about Redeemer's English program. If you have any questions about course requirements, course options for next year, the ABU Oxford program, courses that will work well with another major or minor (for example, Theatre, History, Concurrent Ed.) etc., this session will be a great opportunity to ask your questions and have English professors give you answers! Don't miss it!

    YOUTH MINISTRY MAJORS AND PRE-SEM STUDENTS: You are invited to join us for Redeemer's 23rd Annual Ministers' Conference on TOMORROW.     PSYCHOLOGY HONOURS AND MAJORS IN THIRD YEAR: There will be an internship information session on Wednesday March 03 at 3 p.m. in Prof. Stephensons office (102A). If any of you are interested in doing an internship as one of your courses, please attend. If you are interested, but cannot attend, please make an appointment a.s.a.p. with Prof. Stepehnson.

    FREE FOOD AND FUN: The Minstrel's Winter Release Party is taking place in Redeemer’s Executive Dining Room on Wednesday, March 3 from 9:30pm – 10:30pm. You are invited for food and fellowship as we celebrate the release of Redeemer’s magazine of creativity! Come celebrate the arts with us!

    EDUCATION DEPT SEMI-FORMAL: The FTA presents the Education Dept Semi-Formal, held Thursday, March 4th, 2010, beginning at 6pm until 9pm. This event is open to students in the Education Department and will include an elegant buffet style dinner, musical entertainment provided by students in the Redeemer Community, a speech delivered by Education Faculty, and door prizes. Tickets are $20/person and you are invited to bring your spouse or significant other. Please pick up your ticket(s) from Catherine Byl in the Education Department before March 2. This will be an eventful evening that you will not want to miss!     DEAR ARTISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS OF REDEEMER! The Student Senate Office is looking a bit plain and as a result we need you to take out your cameras and photograph landmarks and other scenery around Hamilton. The top 10 black & white 9" x 11" photos will be framed and put on one of the 3 walls in the Senate office. The artist of the most outstanding photograph will be awarded a prize! You have until March 5th! Hand your pictures into the Senate Office when you are done.

    TRICK YOUR TROLLEY: Does your dorm have what it takes to put together the best grocery cart on campus? On Friday March 5th, in the Commons during Activity Period , we will find out! Carts will be judged on: Originality, Flare, Functionality, Creativity, and Presentation.     ATHLETICS

    SOCCER INTRAMURALS: The updated soccer schedule will be posted today. Games TONIGHT are Bridgeport vs Curtis' Team @ 11 and Victorious Secret vs The Unit @ 11:30.

    SPRINGBALL LEAGUE SIGN-UPS TODAY: This is a basketball tournament that will be run as a club and not as an intramural sport. Sign-ups are individual and teams will be drafted. If you wish to be a captain please indicate with a C beside your name. The fee to play is $2 and will be required upon signing up. Please see Katie Roth or Brad Douwes for sign-ups in the Athletic Centre TODAY and FRIDAY during Activity Period.

This job would involve creating, planning, and leading various summer ministries such as trips, camps, and one day events in partnership with the current Youth Ministries Leader.
